Come pass a good time at Canal Street Guesthouse !
Sam and Kathey
welcome you!

Canal Street Guesthouse is a 19th century rooming house
that is being renovated and offers clean, comfortable,
simple rooms that rent "by the Week" for the independent
    traveler.
The rates are the best you'll find world-wide. A lovely room
for one person, including all tax, is only $218 per week.
For 2 people, in our nicest rooms, the rate is $328 per
week.  Special event rates are higher, see Prices.
The rooms (non-smoking) are all on the second floor.  An
outdoor balcony surrounds the back.  The east side
overlooks a pond and fountain and features a Community
Kitchen, barbeque area, outdoor tables and chairs.

You've found a unique place. While located in the same area as major New Orleans hotels,
you'll find rooms that are warm, cozy and home-like.
New Orleans hostels have many of the same type of guests- people from all over the world-
but you have private rooms, quiet nights and no curfews.
It's like a New Orleans apartment because you can cook your own meals in the community
kitchen and come and go as you like, with your own keys, but you are only committed for a
    week.
Like a New Orleans Bed and Breakfast,  we have comfortable intimate surroundings, but
there's no front desk and designated breakfast time.           You are entirely on your own.
Canal Street Guesthouse is romantic New Orleans with old world charm, french doors,
alfresco dining, clawfoot tubs, balconies, privacy and a great ambiance.

To reserve your room, we require a $50 deposit on a valid credit card
in your name, which is NOT Refundable if you cancel.  ($100 for
special events).   This is kept as a security deposit, in addition to your
rent, until check-out, and refunded
when your keys are returned and no damages exist.

Rooms are rented by-the-week only, with a one week minimum and a
one month maximum.
After the first week, extra days can be pro-rated.
You can start on any day of the week,
providing we have space available.
Advance payment is required.
Please make your arrangements so that
          check-in is before 8 P.M.
               Check-out  time is usually noon.
    We accept most credit cards.

Each private, clean room is furnished with one double bed  (Twins
in #1) with linens, your own small
refrigerator, a ceiling fan, small
table and chairs and local television.  In order to keep prices low a
"pay  as you go" air conditioning system is in each room. It's
twenty-five cents an hour and $10 is average for a week's usage,
depending on how much time you spend in the room.  The rooms
all have hardwood floors, windows, and balcony access.
No Pets are allowed.

There is a
community kitchen, fully furnished with gas stove,
micro-wave oven, coffeemakers, pots and pans, all the basic
cooking utensils, Iron and laundry facilities. Cable TV and
free
wireless hi speed internet
are available in the kitchen.
Balconies surround the back of the building and it's super for
sunning, smoking or hanging out.
    Location
Canal Street Guesthouse is located on the  downtown street of New Orleans, Canal Street.  We are 2 blocks
outside of the central business district and 10 blocks from the French Quarter.  You'll be close enough to
walk, but far enough away to avoid the noises and smells.
It's only 7 blocks to the Super Dome and 3 blocks to the Medical District.   The bus/train terminal is 16
blocks away and Jazzfest is 27 blocks from us.

New Red Streetcars are back on Canal Street!
After they were all ruined in Hurricane Katrina, we
are building new ones, and they are running along
with the  Historic green Saint Charles Avenue.
They stop right in front of the Canal Street
Guesthouse.

you to our front door. Tip $1.00 per bag.  May take 1 hour.
City Bus takes an hour or longer and can be unpleasant. Bus drops you off 3

Tango Dancers- If you want a great place to stay in Buenos Aires in the San
Telmo area, go to this
inexpensive lovely spot.  It's above a delicious bakery,
has charming rooms and the owners are so nice. Great location to all the
tango activities, lots of restaurants and clubs and an easy walk to downtown
or the subway. We stayed in 3 different areas of town and this was our
favorite!
